General Acoustics offers a Calibration-free portable

Water Level and Wave Measuring System

The mobile Tide and Wave Gauge LOG_aLevel® interests Dredgers and Surveyors

This product is based on autonomous remote sensing via ultrasound technology for water level monitoring, wave measurement, flood warning and prediction, tide monitoring, reservoir control and environmental monitoring.

The system is cost effective, robust, compact, highly flexible, easy to install and maintenance free. Due to the narrow sound beam a mounting near constructions and buildings is possible. Measurement distances from 0,5 to 6 m (optional up to 10m) are possible

The LOG_aLevel® system (Fig.1) can be located e.g. at a quay or a jetty to measure the level and works with 12 V, 110/230 V power supply or a battery (> 12 h continuous supply). The level data is provided via RS232 output and can be delivered via licence-free radio transmission to a digital display (Fig.2) on a dredger or survey vessel. The water level could also be transmitted to a PC in the harbour office to display the level data on the LOG_aLevel® Software which is included in the basic package. Also a 1 GB data logger can be used to store the data.

The application to have an accurate water level on the vessels is very interesting for dredgers and surveyors.

A similar LOG_aLevel® is used in the Port of Le Havre to support a dredger with the current water level during its working time. Also the US Army Corps of Engineers in the San Francisco District use Mobile LOG_aLevels to support their survey ships with accurate water level.
